Giving Back

From his days on the gridiron to founding Profit Investments, Eugene Profit is no stranger to overcoming adversity. One of a family of five children growing up in Los Angeles, Eugene wanted to see more, do more and be more. His mother, who worked as a surgical assistant, emphasized education. As a result, Eugene not only attended college, but graduated from one of the top schools, Yale University. This experience, together with his time spent in the NFL, contributed to his strong personal commitment to ensuring more African American students are on the path to college.

Supporting the Next Generation: Profit Charitable Foundation

In 2006, Eugene donated $200,000 to establish the Profit Charitable Foundation. This foundation was established with the goal of generating financial support for organizations that foster educational opportunities, cultural awareness and the overall well-being of minority youth. Built on the mission of “Investing in Achievement,” the Profit Charitable Foundation has been a positive influence in the lives of youth who have shown an aptitude and a commitment to education. The Foundation exposes youth to experiences they may not otherwise have — allowing them to see the many possibilities available to them.

The Profit Golf Classic

The Profit Golf Classic Each year, from 2011-2015 the Profit Charitable Foundation sponsored a golf tournament that raised close to $300,000 for children’s charities. The golf tournament supported these charities: Blessings in a Backpack, Horizons Greater Washington, Kids in Need Distributors and Take Stock in Children. Proceeds generated from the golf tournament helped these charities provide summer enrichment programs, scholarships and meals to children in need.

In addition to the charities supported by the golf tournament, Eugene provides donations to many other nonprofit organizations. For a list of the charities Eugene supports, please see the Lending Support page.
